Wild One Part 2

The boys are back in town

Lhin Tizzy informs Mondatta that his associate is safe but he cannot return immediately because one of his crew (Leebar) needs urgent medical attention (see previous game). Mondatta is not pleased but Lhin insists.

A nearby village has a Bacta tank available for Leebar. The villagers are willing to help in exchange for the crew's help. They suffer from scum and villains raiding their village and need a few tough guys to help their sheriff fight them.

Sheriff Mitchum

Lhin is reluctant to get involved but is persuaded to help the villagers by a former crew member, now working for the Rebellion, who happens to be in town.

Meri Goar

Lhin Tizzy & crew together with the Sheriff are waiting for the bandits to arrive.

The bandits

The bandits have surrounded the village and are moving in.

Trupan the Weeqay fires at Meri and Z while Nug the Gammorean moves in for a close assault. Leaders on both sides have a difficult time. Skaag the bandit leader goes down with 2 wounds when targeted by Blayne's heavy blaster. Lhin takes a shotgun blast from Burk the Trandoshan. Fortunately he has the 9-lives trait and is only wounded.

The Weequay takes out Meri, prompting the Gammorean to charge Z. But Z stands his ground and defeats the Gammorean in close combat.

Blayne sees the massive hulk of the bandit leader move behind the crops and blasts him again, taking him out.

Burk manages to inflict a second wound on Lhin with his shotgun blaster. Sheriff Mitchum is moving to assist Lhin.

The bandits are pushing forward. Trupan has dropped Z and Wowash the Arconian has set fire to one building and is moving the next. Some villagers have overcome their fear and are joining the fight with improvised weapons.

The Trandoshan proves to be a tough opponent. The sherrif is down, but Lhin is on his feet again, joined by Jadh.

Groups of villagers attack Trupan and Wowash. Trupan successfully defends himself, but Wowash dies at the hands of the villagers.

Blayne finally arrives to save Lhin and Jadh who are both seriously wounded. He shreds the Trandoshan.

Being the only one left, Trupan decides to call it a day. Taking one of the villagers' cattle with him he makes his escape.

Grateful for saving their village, Lhin, Meri and Jadh are patched up by the villagers. Z is buried near the village.
Suspicious of doctor Spitzenfinger and Mondatta's eagerness to get hold of him, Meri contacts Rebellion intelligence and learns that doctor Spitzenfinger has supposedly been working on a doomsday weapon. Disgruntled because the Empire has diverted resources to another ginormous project, Spitzenfinger has deserted and sought help from Mondatta to build his doomsday weapon. Rebel command urges Meri to capture Spitzenfinger and deliver him to the Rebellion or kill him when capture is not possible.

Who will acquire the services of doctor Spitzenfinger and his doomsday weapon? What actions will Mondatta take to get Spitzenfinger?

More will be uncovered in Wild One Part 3!

Springfield Station

October 3rd, 1861. The 31st NY volunteers are tasked with clearing Springfield Station in another scenario from The Coming Thunder.

My opponent's Confederates will be facing a Union force twice the size of the Confederate force. Unbeknownst to my opponent, the Confederates have a variable number of turns (4 draws of the blank card) to escape off table, after the firing has started,  before they are surrounded by other Union forces.

He does know the mission is to delay the Yankees and then escape.

The first Union formation enters the table, but all the Confederates deploy in a firing line and are ready for them.

I decide to move forward and change formation to a firing line, but fail to get past the corn field bottleneck.

Despite firing at long range, the Confederates are hitting the Yankees pretty hard.

To make matters worse, a random event first causes the Yankees to accidentally shoot their captain (wounded, reduced 1 level) and then foul their barrels (-1 to hit).

Help is on the way, but because of the bottleneck, they cannot engage the enemy.

After a few attempts the wounded Union captain manages to convince his troops to stop firing and get out of the way.

The Confederates don't seem to be in a hurry to escape and continue to pour fire into the Union lines.
Yet another random event delivers a pall of smoke in front of the Union troops, making it nearly impossible for them to hit anything.

Anxious to join the fight, the second Union formation marches into close range of the Confederates (and past the obscuring smoke).

Then the Blank Card is drawn for the 4th time, meaning that the Confederate force has been surrounded by other Union forces and are forced to surrender.

Victory for the Union!
